I’ve long wondered why stock issuers cannot make it a condition of purchase that the buyer cannot resell the stock in less than some suitable arbitrary period – might be a month, might be a day. The exact condition would be up to the owners but it would immediately end the problem of computer aided high frequency speculation which is rapidly rendering financial markets beyond human control or understanding…
