Facebook Comments kill web freedom • The Register

a familiar argument with those of us who ply their blogging trade here on SU. While we can exceed the 500 character limit (which Facebook imposes), what we can’t do is “comment on comments” (which facebookers can). Swings and roundabouts but as implied by the story, the only reason anyone sticks with either is because – until now – nothing better has come along…
